Charlotte Austwick | Exploring Central American Jungles
We were originally going to connect with Charlotte from Bolivia, but unfortunately the expedition has been postponed due to due Corona-19. However, the show must go on! From the UK, Charlotte will be discussing her exploration journey so far, her expedition to the Jungles of Central America, the Maya and their symbiotic relationship between these indigenous people and their jungle environment. Charlotte is an archaeologist, anthropologist and filmmaker. She's a fellow of the Royal Geographical Society, Screenskill's Camera Trainee 2018 and the Scientific Exploration Societies Rivers Foundation Explorer for Health and Humanities 2019. She recently returned from the jungles of Central America where she was living and filming with a Mayan community to produce educational resources in their native language, explore the surrounding jungel for ancient Maya archeology and deliver dental hygiene workshops.
